George Scorsis Background:
George Scorsis has extensive experience navigating heavily regulated industries. His career initially launched in the alcohol industry with Bacardi Canada. He later pivoted to the energy drink sector, before setting his sights on cannabis and psilocybin as cutting-edge medicine that is supported by historical–and recent–evidence of effectiveness. His 25 year-career has been vibrant from his leadership roles in such industries, both in Toronto and previously in Florida. Prior to his role at Entourage Health, George helped Red Bull Canada reach a total revenue of $150 million when he was president. He focused all his efforts in restructuring the organisation, both from operational and geographical aspects. His high-level leadership role with Red Bull Canada led to his collaboration with Health Canada as regulations and guidelines were developed for the energy drink sector. George Scorsis started his career in the alcoholic beverage industry while attending York University, completing his Bachelor degree in Administrative Studies and learning the ropes as a university ambassador for Bacardi Canada. He went on to earn his MBA at Queen’s University.Leadership at Entourage Health
While working in the cannabis industry, George Scorsis saw a tremendous opportunity from mergers and acquisitions and the consolidation of the industry. After the merger of Starseed and Entourage Health (formerly WeedMD), George Scorsis continued as the Executive Chairman with a combined transaction that led to a $25 million increase in capital funding for the company. This was followed by an additional $30 million credit facility to further expand both the medical and recreational platforms. The funds will increase the company’s working capital and provide the organisation with financing for its commercial initiatives. Founded in 2013, Entourage Health specialises in cannabis extraction on a large scale. Entourage Health boasts impressive property, plant and equipment to further business objectives, including a 158-acre state-of-the-art greenhouse and outdoor processing facility in Strathroy, Ontario as well as a fully-licensed 26,000 sq. ft. processing facility in Aylmer, Ontario. Entourage Health is dedicated to educating healthcare practitioners and furthering public understanding of medical cannabis. It will, no doubt, contribute to treatment and relief of chronic medical conditions and will serve as a remarkable and viable alternative to prescription medication.
